About Element Detroit Warren 11 Mile

Founded in 1903 during the inception of the U.S. automotive industry, Element Warren has supported growth and innovation for over 100 years and has become one of the leading automotive laboratories in the United States.

Located in the Detroit metropolitan area, the laboratory has grown from a small metallurgical laboratory, supporting testing on the Ford Model-T, to a comprehensive full-service product validation laboratory for the transportation, automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial markets.

Our services include full-vehicle testing, climatics and environmental simulation, fuels and fluids testing, polymer and composites analysis, materials testing, corrosion, vibration, hydraulic and dynamics testing, hybrid and electric vehicle battery testing, and many more critical services.

Element Warren performs testing to a wide variety of ASTM, SAE, FMVSS, ISO, DIN, JIS, Chrysler, GM, Ford, and other specifications and requirements for military, automotive, and consumer product manufacturers and suppliers.

The laboratory maintains accreditation through the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
